The Jonas Armstrong
fanbase is involved in many different types of activities, ranging from
raising money for charity to raising awareness of environmental issues.
We are a very pro-active fanbase and listed below are the many
campaigns and issues that you can find on the site/forum. Please feel
free to get involved and help us in our various endeavours. Some of the
following are led by Jonas himself and others are purely Angel led
activities.
Charity Fundraising
- The Angels & Autos have been fundraising for this Blackpool based
charity since June 2007 and have raised almost £4000. Jonas
recently visited Lyndon Centre which is a bereavement centre used by
the relatives and residents of BH & CASCADES.
Sherwood Forest
- Last year at the request of Jonas, fans launched themselves into a
campaign to win Sherwood Forest lottery funding. Sadly Sherwood Trust
did not win the £50 million but the Angels/Autos continue to
raise awareness of the plight of Sherwood Forest.
Eco Chic - Marie Claire
- The magazine has launched a campaign to raise awareness about the
effects of global warming. Jonas recently showed his support for them
by appearing in the special Eco Chic issue which was on sale in June.
Stop Knives & Save Lives - Daily Mirror campaign to take knives off the UK streets and stop the senseless killing of our young people. Email
petitions@mirror.co.uk
BBC Drama Faces Page
- We have been campaigning to get Jonas his own page for the last few
months. Keith Allen and Richard Armitage both have their own BBC Drama
Faces Page yet the star of Robin Hood doesn't. We find this baffling,
and despite the BBC recently telling a fan that they would be putting a
page online for Jonas, it hasn't appeared. So our campaign continues.
Please join us in contacting the BBC via their webform and asking that
they rectify their oversight in not giving Jonas his own page back in
2006 when he first took on the role of iconic legend Robin Hood.
