Protect and Preserve Sherwood Forest
If the legend of Robin Hood and the spirit of Sherwood Forest mean anything to you, then you will know how important it is that we do everything within our power to help protect and preserve it for future generations. Building an incinerator in the heart of the Forest is not the way to do this.

Please read Shlomo's message below and get those emails sent to Nottingham County Council. Make your objections known, and  remember, the Forest cannot speak for itself.
But we can be it's voice and we can make ourselves heard.

Thankyou

Calling All Jonas Armstrong Fans Everywhere

You can help protect Sherwood Forest by sending an e-mail message to Nottinghamshire County Council.

Following the Living Legend Bid we now have two competing plans for the future of this part of Sherwood Forest:

(1) The creation of a Sherwood Forest Regional Park that helps protect and enhance local heathland, or
(2) An oversized incinerator could be built to burn 200,000 tonnes of waste every year for the next 30 - 50 years!

If you like the sound of a Regional Park and you object to a garbage burner being built in Sherwood Forest, then send an e-mail message now to:

development.planning@nottscc.gov.uk

Be sure to include your name and address, and the reasons you object to NCC Application Number ES/1144.

These could include any or all of the following:

(a) The proposed location is unsuitable because it is in Sherwood forest, on land that should be replanted with trees and heather
(b) There is no good reason to put local habitats, drinking water and wildlife at risk
(c) There are better ways to deal with the food waste and other garbage that people throw away
(d) You might want to visit Sherwood Forest in the future, and you don't want anything to happen that might damage or kill-off the trees
(e) Any of the other arguments made in PAIN's objection, available from the People Against INcineration website at http://p-a-in.co.uk/planningobj.htm

I am always happy to answer any of your questions,

Shlomo of Sherwood
