The
first three series are set in the fictional Summerdown Comprehensive,
which merges with another school in the fourth series to form Wattkins
School. Jonas only appeared in the 4th and final series playing Anthony
Millington.
The
series was filmed at the former Lockleaze school, and other locations
around Bristol, England.
In
2005 it was announced that there would be no more. A shortlived version
in the USA was aired in 2006.

Series 4: Episode 1 - Tuesday 26th October 2004
Summerdown Comprehensive has merged with a rival school into Wattkins
Comprehensive, resulting in a "them and us" divide between the staff
and pupils. Bob has a new toupee, a mysterious fiancée, a
moped and a new job – he's been demoted and his new, young
boss Ewan (Lee Williams) is an instant hit with the women. Bob,
therefore, starts a vendetta against Ewan, resulting in total
humiliation, while Clare will stop at almost nothing to get Ewan's
attention. The other newcomers – cynical Damien and
hypochondriac Ben – resist the friendly overtures of Lindsay
and Penny.
Episode 2 - Tuesday 2nd November 2004
Penny gets over the humiliation of being rejected by Ewan when she is
chatted up in the school library by Anthony (Jonas Armstrong). Her
colleagues find out he's a student, not a teacher, but Lindsay is
reluctant to tell her. Bob faces rejection in his bid to pick a Thai
bride, and Ben’s dismissive attitude of the elderly is
overturned when he has to look after a visiting group of pensioners on
Age Awareness Day
Episode 3 - Tuesday 9th November 2004
During Gay & Lesbian Awareness Week, Ewan panics when pupil
John (James Buckley) develops a crush on him. His advice –
adopt a gay role model – backfires when John turns into
Freddie Mercury. Ben is attracted to Sarah (Amanda Abbington) from the
Gay & Lesbian Advisory Group, Claire is fascinated about what a
lesbian actually does, Liz worries that daughter Kayla may be gay and
Lindsay is unhappy when she's told she'd make a good lesbian.
Episode 4 - Tuesday 16th November 2004
Bob prepares for the arrival of his mail order bride. Meanwhile, it's
Obesity Awareness Month and Lindsay is forced by Mrs Hunter to lose
weight, it would heighten his own stress levels.
Penny gets dumped by Antony, who wants to concentrate on his work

5 - Tuesday 23rd November 2004
Bob is excited by the imminent arrival of his mail order bride Ping (Su
Bhoopongsa), but she turns out to be a total misery who refuses to have
sex (except with Ewan). Meanwhile, it's the school's religious
tolerance week, resulting in an all-out war between pupils, while,
inspired by the spiritual tone, Ben is provoked to go in search of
inner peace.
Episode 6 - Tuesday 30th November 2004
When Penny’s surname is revealed to be Eichmann, the rest of
the staff accuse her of being a Nazi – and she keeps doing
things to arouse their suspicions. Also during Race Awareness Week, Ben
becomes obsessed with the size of black men's penises and Bob pretends
that he's having loads of sex with Ping.
Episode 7 - Tuesday 7th December 2004
Damien proudly declares he doesn’t need a girlfriend to
complete his rather sorry life. But he reckons without
Cupid’s laser guided arrow that pierces his heart the moment
he sets eyes on supply teacher Anna (Morven Christie). But his inflamed
ardour is cooled by an accident with an icing bag that has left him
temporarily as potent as the newly-snipped Bob.
Episode 8 - Tuesday 14th December 2004
Bob is planning his stag night in Dublin, but Ben insists he can't come
– a Ouija board predicted he's die the day before –
and to ensure he goes to heaven, he converts to all religions for half
a day each. Meanwhile, Penny tries to avoid getting into trouble for
having an affair with pupil Anthony.
Episode 9 - Christmas Special - Tuesday 21st December 2004
The severe female Ofsted inspector arrives with the classrooms still in
a mess from the end of term Christmas party. Clare's plan of action
– involving the dinner ladies, fake pupils and the
incarcaration of troublemakers – fails to work so sexy Ewan
has to seduce the inspector to save the day. Meanwhile, barmy Bob
prepares for his marriage ceremony – that’s taking
place in the playground and features an igloo, a sleigh, a reluctant
best man (Ben) and an even more reluctant wife.
